The Award Ceremony of the "13th Macao-wide IT Competition – Alice 3D Programming Contest", hosted by the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI), co-organized by the International Gaming Standards Association (iGSA), supported by the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region and the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau, was held at MPI on the afternoon of 22 July, 2021.

It was officiated by Lei Ngan Lin, Vice-President of Macao Polytechnic Institute, Wan Kam Meng, Honorary Fellow of the Guangdong Institution of Engineers and President of the Macao Computer Society, Lai Iok In, the Head of the Information and Technology Division of the Education and Youth Development Bureau, Lei Kuong Leong, the Head of Information Technology Development Division of the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau, Chan Keng Lim, Vice Principal of Pui Ching Middle School, Li Iok Meng, Vice Principal of Santa Rosa de Lima English Secondary School, Tam Seak Tim and Kong Iam Iok, Vice Principals of Escola Choi Nong Chi Tai. Participation in this competition was enthusiastic, with a total of nearly 80 teams and over 300 people registering for the competition. The First Prize winners of the secondary school category are Qian Jiahong, Ho Kwan Yuen, Tou Wai Chon and their mentor Fong Wai Sao from Escola Choi Nong Chi Tai. Their work is "Frozen Human Meets Forward-Looking Technology". The First Prize of the open category was won by Lou Wai Fo and Hoi Nei Tat for their work "Smart Baby Happy Fun V2.0".

At the award ceremony, Lei Ngan Lin stated that the Macao-wide IT Competition aims to facilitate the development of information technology in Macao, and to promote the construction of Macao smart city. It also aims to cultivate and gather talent with comprehensive abilities in interdisciplinary technical fields, and contribute to the construction of an "International innovation and technology hub" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The theme of this year’s competition was "Technology. Innovation. Macao +", which allowed participants to understand the application of technological innovation in real life, and encourage them to explore how technology and innovation can promote urban development and improve life. Participants may also appreciate how the power of technology and innovation can radiate from Macao to neighboring areas, thus promoting collaborative innovation and cooperation.

The Computing Programme of Macao Polytechnic Institute provides a specialised training course for participants every year. To meet the epidemic prevention requirements and provide better teacher-student interaction, the training was conducted in multiple classes in the computer laboratories of Macao Polytechnic Institute, by the senior instructors of the Computing Programme. Mentors from participating secondary schools said that this competition provides a valuable platform for communication and exchange, and enhances students' interest in information technology.

Throughout the years in this competition, the Macao Polytechnic Institute has invited authoritative experts and scholars from other places to judge the programme submissions and demonstrations of the participants, which have improved the professional knowledge of the participants, enabling them to gain valuable competition experience. The Second Prize in the secondary school category of this competition was won by Wu Chan In, Feng Ka Seong, Lin Yuxiang and their mentor Lam Sao Lan from Pui Ching Middle School. Their work was “Sio Meng's Entrepreneurship”. The Future Stars Prize was won by U Seng Hei, Lei Kuan U, Ieong Sam Mei and their mentor Lei Sio Meng of the Affiliated School of the University of Macau, with their work titled “T + I + U = MACAO”. The Most Creative Idea Prize was won by Lei Si In, Guo Ana and their mentor Lok Kim Fong from Pui Ching Middle School, with their work titled “Entrepreneurship”. Merit Prizes were won by Lou Hau High School, Santa Rosa de Lima English Secondary School, Escola Choi Nong Chi Tai and Pui Ching Middle School. The First Prize winners of both categories demonstrated their winning works at the award ceremony.

In their submitted works, the participating teams presented in different forms that young people have high hopes and expectations towards future development and entrepreneurship in the Greater Bay Area, how innovative technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence can improve the quality of life and environmental protection, and their attention to the humanistic concern in the popularization of technology. This competition continuously facilitates the development of information technology in Macao, cultivates and gathers talent with comprehensive abilities in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) in Macao, helps Macao to contribute to building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into an "International innovation and technology hub", and cultivates more technological and innovative talent for Macao and the motherland.
