A trip to MGM Grand (Cotai) was organized on March 8. There were altogether 18 3rd and 4th years students and 1 teacher joining the field trip. In the trip, some HR and IT staff (Fanny Chu and Calvin Tong) gave us a brief introduction to their premise and business. Then, they gave us a tour around the premise, including the hotel resort, theater’s stage, data center, employee and guest facilities etc. Finally, the senior IT manager (Charles) walked us through the data center. Through the trip, the students were exposed to some control systems, and the up-front technologies adopted in a large-scale gaming operator. The trip started at 15:00 and finished at 17:10.
